Featured: Red Room NaNoWriMo 2016

You might wonder what's keeping me busy these days, well, still writing!

I have already submitted #7MinutesInHeaven to my publisher, Pink & Purple, and we have to wait for the approval, so while I am still waiting, I decided to rest my brain cells. But ooops, here goes this Facebook post!

I researched what NaNoWriMo means, and so, I found out from Wikipedia that:

National Novel Writing Month (often shortened to NaNoWriMo, "na-noh-ry-moh"),^[2] is an annual, Internet-based creative writing project that takes place during the month of November. NaNoWriMo challenges participants to write 50,000 words (their minimum number of words for a novel) from November 1 until the deadline at 11:59PM on November 30. The goal of NaNoWriMo is to get people writing and keep them motivated throughout the process. The website provides participants with tips for writer's block, local places writers participating in NaNoWriMo are meeting, and an online community of support. The idea is to focus on completion instead of perfection. NaNoWriMo focuses on the length of a work rather than the quality, encouraging writers to finish their first draft so that it can later be edited at the author's discretion.^[3]NaNoWriMo's main goal is to encourage creativity worldwide.^[4] The project started in July 1999 with 21 participants, but by the 2010 event, over 200,000 people took part and wrote a total of over 2.8 billion words.^[5]

Writers wishing to participate first register on the project's website, where they can post profiles and information about their novels, including synopses and excerpts. Word counts are validated on the site, with writers submitting a copy of their novel for automatic counting. Municipal leaders and regional forums help connect local writers, holding writing events and providing encouragement.

So, the original NaNoWriMo website is www. nanowrimo.org (I will probably try to join the main site next year, hahaha PROBABLY). My adventurous side took over me. I impulsively joined Red Room's NaNoWriMo :) And good news, I got in!

I have no issues with whoever I will work with, whoever I will deal with or be with, when it comes to writing. I am enthusiastic and I will do anything to learn styles and get to know other people who are good at it too. It is thrilling to be in a group page with my fellow writers, doing our best, motivating each other, and giving each other a healthy challenge.

At first, I could feel the pressure. I guess, anyone would be in my shoes if they get to know good writers like them. (Honestly, this is my first time to socialize or be with writers like me in Facebook). But of course, getting to know some of them, knowing that they felt the same way as I did, the pressure lessened. I finally got an additional confidence with myself, with my work and to look at NaNoWriMo as a long term project. Because I know that all the stuff I will learn from here, all the good writers and editors that I will meet here will be helpful to me in the long run. I am also hoping that they will think of the same about me, that I will be ready to help them anytime.

Now, I just submitted the sixth chapter of my story. I feel really motivated to write and explore different genres. I am a little over with romance, I am now having a transition with erotic romance. Although yes, at the back of my mind, I also want to try sci-fi fantasy. That, will most probably be my next goal after Red Room NaNoWriMo. Unless I change my mind again, of course, hahaha :D

Wattpad Works: Grand Finale of Seven Minutes In Heaven

On September 6, 2016, I began publishing Seven Minutes in Heaven on my Wattpad account. This story is a spin-off from The Set-Up Wedding which narrates the love story of Jude Castillo's younger brother, Efren and his college sweetheart, Matilda.

I started off by launching a little Seven Minutes In Heaven Teaser Video .

After all the cute lovey-dovey but wild scenes during their college days, to the intense passionate adulthood and return of the long lost and gone, Matti, the story is finally coming to its end this Saturday night.

I would like to thank God, first and always, because even if I am currently in a sort-of a problematic career situation, He made this situation a way for me to write a new story that will put tears in people's eyes, make them want to strangle a guy (Efren), gasp in the intense passionate scene, and make them fall in love. (I am not sure though if these are the effects of #7MinutesInHeaven to my readers, but I am hoping, as always!)

And of course, I am thankful to my family, because they have always been supportive with my writing adventures (ever since I was a kid), and I feel sorry sometimes because they experience my crankiness at times when my flow in writing is disturbed... (I am really sorry, it's just part of the process *sobs*).

I am also thankful to have the love of my life who is also supportive with my writing ventures. He is the one who taught me to look at writing in different angles (that it is not just an art but something more), and I know I still have a lot to learn. If I dedicate The Set-Up Wedding to my parents and grandparents, I dedicate Seven Minutes in Heaven to him.

I will miss writing Efren and Matilda's love story. At first, it was hard for me to start the story, I always feel like something was missing... or Effy and Matti lacked something to make me write more about them. But like what the couple wanted to teach everyone, I learned to sacrifice some things in order for my relationship with Efren and Matilda to work. And it did, I finally got to know who Efren and Matilda are, and how to tell my readers who Efren and Matti are. (Why not? Efren's apparition always bugged me at night! Lol. Just trying to be funny.)

So, tonight is going to be the grand finale. You might ask, what should you expect from the ending of their love story? There will be a never-ending Author's Note and a list of songs that made it to my playlist when I wrote the novel. There will be abs and reconciliations and some partying and surprises and confettis. It will be fun, it will be nostalgic, it will make you feel like, I should have written more chapters because that's how I sincerely felt when I finished the story last night, that's why I had a lot of editing done with it... because I feel like I should write more...

What happens next after Efren and Matilda's heavenly story? I am planning to write about another Castillo (guess who?) but I want to prioritize some suspense-detective-teen fiction for a change because I have been writing so much romance these past 15 years (Yes, fifteen years!)

But I always tend to change my mind, so let's see!

And don't worry, the story will stay available and free to be read on Wattpad, unless my publisher gives me an assurance or approval that they will publish #7MinutesInHeaven. I will announce that, if ever.

Hello, guys :)

I already made a blog last month about Seven Minutes in Heaven and from that blog post I mentioned that 10 chapters are available... now, there's 40+ (to be accurate 45 chapters) so, I am glad (and proud) to announce that Efren and Matilda's story is going to come to an end soon :'( (Okay, now I am not so sure if I should be glad or sad...)

So before everything ends, catch up with the story :) Read. And be one of the 1000 people who did just that. Thank youuuuu <3

Featured: From Eroica With Love

So here we go again with the "Featured" posts from yours truly. And in this post, it will be all about From Eroica with Love by Aoike Yasuko.

From Eroica with Love is a manga that I label as yaoi, comedy, crime and investigation type of story. (Sorry, I am not an otaku so I don't know how you define this thing, guys, hahaha!)

The lead character is Earl Dorian who is an aristocrat art thief who believes that he gets whatever he wants. And his nemesis in the story is Iron Klaus or Major Klaus Eberbach who is initially after Earl/Eroica until his missions were diverted with other crimes BUT by the twists of fate, they still cross each other's paths. So that's where the adventure begins.

My Comment: I really love this story. Period. I just can't help laughing on most of the parts. I learn some stuff about art. It is said that some of the characters in this story resemble the members of the band Led Zeppelin, but as much as I want to research who's-who, I decided not to because, I am more absorbed with the story than with what inspired it. The story is never boring, it is fun to read.

At first, I am uncomfortable with the concept of yaoi. I have nothing against the third gender, I am just not comfortable seeing them in the way the manga has conceptualized them (e.g. Earl and Caesar's scenes where they keep on chasing each other around and seducing.) But I got used to it anyways, hahaha! :)

I like the way Earl and Klaus think. They are really smart people in the story. Earl is strategic, at the same time he knows how to use people (his people) to get what he wants (e.g. James) and Klaus is smart as well and he knows how to foresee events without any kind of telepathic powers of some sort. Klaus also knows how to use people, he uses threat or blackmail to get what he wants (e.g. Sending anyone who doesn't follow his orders to Alaska). They have different set of values (as Earl said in the manga) but both have beautiful perspectives about art.

My favorite character is James. (I sound so biased because that is also my boyfriend's name, hahaha!)

So anyways, yes, he is my favorite character. Period. He makes me laugh everytime his part comes in the manga.

Currently, I am still on volume 2, chapter 5. I have to tell myself to stop reading this manga for a while because I have stories to write and a blog to update and this day is my only day off for this week.

I recommend this story for anyone who likes a light read, but also a challenging one. :)

Wattpad Works: Seven Minutes In Heaven

Hello! :)

Now it is time for updates!

I am currently working on three stories (yes, three altogether!) which is The Annihilator's Awakening, Against the World, and another one that I put on hold for a while to make way to Seven Minutes to Heaven.

Let's talk about Seven Minutes in Heaven.

#7MinsInHeaven is the continuation of Efren Castillo and Matilda Rodriguez' story which debuted from Set-Up Wedding (Ellen Estabillo and Jude Castillo's love story). If you will ask me, no, I am not planning to make a series of love stories about the clan of Castillos. It just so happens that the story of Efren and Matilda, and their tandem in SUW caught my attention.

The idea bugged me for a long time, but I ignored it. But then, this time, enough with all the ignoring, I thought I better start this thing, and now I already have 10 chapters of #7MinsInHeaven published on Wattpad.

I might make some revisions in the story. Nothing will change, except a little additional detail about the events in the story. That is all I can share for now.

Just some weeks ago, I forgot to share to you an important discovery that I had, so now that I have the time and I remember it, I will share it to you.

It is a web comic published on Wattpad and yes, for me it is a discovery because due to Wattpad's many innovations you can finally publish your own comics in it instead of plain typewritten stories (which was the website's original format when it comes to published works anyway).

It is already August 29, guys! Happy National Heroes Day!

To those who still have to go to work today, happy national heroes day! You are heroes to your family for working hard for their welfare and bright future, you are heroes for your employers for you keep the business running and your skills and talents gives them an endless probability of success. My advice, why not bring your own dreams to life?

To those who spends the holiday off work, happy national heroes day! You deserve a rest on this day, to finally spend this day with the people you work hard for. For them, you are a hero. Although it is sometimes too cheesy for them to express it openly, just believe me when I say this. My advice, it is good that we sometimes rest from being heroes and enjoy the rewards we reap?

To every mothers and every fathers who provides the needs of the family, financially or emotionally, you are heroes and celebrated everyday, happy national heroes day! :) Without you, how can other children grow up to be heroes just like you?

To every loyal spouse, girlfriend or boyfriend, happy national heroes day! The love of your life looks up to you as their hero, who saved them from heartaches and from time to time, teaches them the value of a loving relationship and everything that goes with it.

To every children, every teen, every youth, who are being naturally themselves sometimes but never forget the hearts of their parents, happy national heroes day! You are on your way to becoming a full-time hero! Spread the hero-vibe with your friends and show the elders (but don't brag) that you can be heroes in your own right, in your own pacing and they can be proud of you.

To every best friend or just a friend, happy national heroes day! Nowadays, people are promoting the idea that best friends are sexual whores after their friend's boyfriend and are snakes. Rub it into their faces that not all of them are traitors like that and of course, you can slap it in their faces through a squad goals picture (or any other way you want to show it, lol, these issues are just getting in my nerves these days).

Happy national heroes day to all the pets in every homes' house, a dog, a cat, a parrot, a mouse, etc. All of you who make your owners happy and relieve all the stress they experience everytime they come home.

Happy national heroes day to every worker who works with dignity, works honestly and gives it their best in their jobs. Happy national heroes day to every employer who treats their workers right, who treats them like humans and give them every right they deserve. 

Happy national heroes day to all the writers out there, like me :) Let us all spread a message to the world about reality, the existence of true love and the essence of being human in the way we know-- through writing, of course!

Wattpad Works: Updates - The SUW Book Cover

Hello! :) It's been quite a while since my last update here on my blog about the publishing of The Set-Up Wedding, so now that I have the time, I will be giving you guys a FULL UPDATE REPORT about it!

The first news is SUW's book cover that I took a screenshot from their Instagram post. Yaaay! So here's a sneak peek for the book's cover with the characters Jude and Ellen in smooth black attires, so classy!

Next, as we all know, yung ipapublish na parts ng SUW ng Bookware (under Pink & Purple) ay kailangang burahin sa Wattpad (as part of the agreement with the publisher), so I apologize kasi binura ko na. BUUUUT, yung mga chapters na binura ko na ang content ay pinalitan ko ng other content. What content naman ang nilagay ko? Some trivias and facts about SUW tulad ng playlist na pinakinggan ko which inspired the story and it's development and more, more, more! (P.S. There's a Jude and Ellen slum note included!)

Wattpad Works: Updates!

Hello, everyone!

It's been a long time since my last post in this blog, so today I will be giving you an update about my Wattpad works. (Yehey!)

So, first, as obvious as it looks like, yes, Set Up Wedding will be published soon by Bookware. Coming soon in the Manila International Book Fair 2016 is SUW's first part printed into a book. It is really a big break for me and my works, and I am hoping that you guys will support it as much as how you loved and supported the story on Wattpad. :)

Yup, because of the agreement with the publisher, the story will be deleted from the site BUT even if the story is deleted, the book on Wattpad will only be replaced by some trivia and such for all the SUW fans and lovers of the story. In fact, I already put up Ellen and Jude's slum note on the first pages of SUW that was already deleted (because of the upcoming first part of the book).

But SUW's second part is still available for reading on Wattpad. So, go! Read while it is still there! :)

P.S. SUW just reached #100 in Romance! Thank you for the support! <3

Next update will be about The Annihilator's Awakening. So, this will be my second Fantasy/Paranormal story to be published on Wattpad (Well, Doppel  was first.)

I am wondering why its audience is few... It makes me think that romance stories have more impact on Filipino readers than Fantasy/Paranormal, but hey, I am not losing hope!

I published the story on my new Wattpad account, Bean Miller. I wonder if I should deactivate it anyway because it is hard to control two Wattpad profiles, plus, my original Wattpad profile have more followers so maybe, The Annihilator's Awakening will be more given notice there or can be easily promoted there so, I have to think about that yet.

Against the World is my new romance novel project on Wattpad, as you can see, it isn't progressing that much. The Annihilator's Awakening is eating up all of my focus in writing... so, you might think what kind of a cruel person am I to keep on deleting her unfinished stories? But I am sorry, because I am already considering to do that, so that I can concentrate more on TAA.

ARTWORKS: Woman From Mars

It was the first time that I used a canvas in painting. (And some oil paint).

The experience made me a little obsessed with passion and focus. I never wanted any kind of disturbance during the process, and certainly, I had to shoo away important people in my life for an hour. (Yup, this simple art was only done for almost an hour and a half or less than that).

I originally planned to name this painting, "Woman from Mars", but when I was done, I felt unsure, I wanted to call it something like, "Hidden" but then, let's just stick to "Woman from Mars".

Point-Of-View: Love and Differences

It was hard to imagine watching two people so into each other. You could see them happy together, their tastes matched with each other and their differences only made them more interested with each other.

But these were only the disillusions of love. Sometimes, we would always find our partner's difference as something unique about him or her. We would start to love that about them, because it was a sign of their individuality. Their difference made them want them more for we believed that we are in love when we accept them for their difference, for who they are.

Of course, that is what really love is, but how long could your relationship flow smoothly with your differences?

Small differences are no big deal. It would not matter if he likes the color blue and you like orange, if he is too tall or too short for you, if she is too ugly or too pretty for you, if she is smarter in Physics than you.

What about the big differences? What if the guy is a Born-Again and the girl is a Catholic? What if she wanted financial stability at the age of 35 before getting married and he wanted to get married at the age of 25? What if he wanted to live in their own home, far from relatives while the girl wants to live in a compound close to her parents' house once they get married? What if she wanted to work abroad and he didn't want her to? What if he wanted to put up a business managed by him and his future wife and she just wanted to stay employed?

You may have different religions or beliefs, difference attitudes or personalities, but there will come a point that both of you have to compromise. And when we compromise, it would be either one would sacrifice their own belief for the other, or both would not do what they plan to do so that it would not make one of them sacrifice their own belief.

But there will come a time when one of them should sacrifice and give up their beliefs, their personalities, their principles just to make the relationship work.

Would you do that for love?

Could you give up your religion? Your beliefs? All the little pieces of your puzzle that makes you whole when they are put together?

Could you? Would you?

And would you still love a person when they could not give you what you wanted? If they could not do what you want them to do? Would you still love them if they refused to adapt to what you believe in? To what your principles are?

Could you? Would you?

For how long? To what extent?

Point-Of-View: Free Taste Fail

I am going to share one of my recent posts on Facebook.

Lately, I have been inactive with blogging here just because it is hard for me to use a smart phone in blogging (call me old fashioned, but when it comes to long typing, I prefer using keyboards).

And so, here's my FB post last October 2:

Had three shots today-- three shots of different flavors of this juice drink in a supermarket. The sales ladies were offering a free taste at their booth so I gave it a try. Looking like an interested customer for them, they gave me two more free tastes o f that juice's other flavors. 

Finally, I was pursuaded to choose which one to buy. I said I wanted the third flavor. To my disappointment, they said that the only available flavors are the first and second flavors. So, I reluctantly chose the first flavor. One of the ladies opened a cooler to get me a bottle of that juice flavor. And once again, I was disappointed to see some bottles of the flavor that I chose first. If I didn't pay attention to the cooler, I could have not noticed that. But I paid attention and saw that. 

I accepted the bottle they gave me. I thanked them and left. As I approached the supermarket's cashier, I left that bottle inside the basket I used.
I will never ever pay for something given to me like that. 😂😂😂

My points are: One, why would they ever give a free taste of a product or a product's flavor if they don't sell it? 

Number two, if their intention was to increase the sales of the two other flavors then why offer a free taste of the flavor that they claimed 'not available' because they ran out of stock. 

Number Three: Yes, it is a smart move to cheat on a customer or the target market if it will keep the business profitable. But don't ever get caught. It won't leave a good impression.

So, what do you think about it? Will you buy for the same style of marketing that I experienced from the two sales ladies?

Your Text Dramas

Cellphones used to be used for communication, but nowadays, they are becoming one of people's primary needs next in line to food, air, clothes and shelter because of their new features. Cellphones nowadays are not just used for calling or texting, but also takes the place of DVD players, CDs, TVs and books because they can provide the same such as music players, TVs, movie players and ebooks installed in your android phones.

But then, the main use of cellphones is for communicating. I know everyone experience the following with the cellphone activities (making calls or texting). Some occasional and some everyday cellphone drama. Let the gifs that you'll see around the internet give you the feels.

When the person you like doesn't text...

When you keep texting without receiving any replies...

When you keep on waiting for your call to be answered...

When you discover some his/her text messages with someone else...

When you read something that makes you happy...

When the person you are with keeps on tap-tapping that phone...

When you feel out of place or ran out of things to do...

When you don't understand how to use your new phone...

When you simply don't mind texting or texting back anyone at all...

When you are focused on playing games.... or maybe in explaining...

When you are enjoying spreading the news with everybody! (Or just texting everyone!)

When you like someone's reply...

When you are somewhere where you shouldn't be texting (work, meetings) but you really, really, have to...

When you received something no one should ever, ever see...

When you know you shouldn't send a wrong text... but you did.

School Get-Togethers and Reunions

One day you will suddenly get an invitation about the upcoming homecoming party, or a reunion outing with your old classmates. Of course, the first thing you will feel about the news is excitement. You will wonder how people you have lost contact with already look like? What happened to their lives since the last time you have been together? And the thrill doesn't just stop from there.

There will be a lot of contacting people, inviting one and another for a goal to have everybody's presence in the reunion. It will be fun, they said. So you should come, they said.

Anyways, there are a lot of conflict before the successful reunion happens. The following are things considered  in holding a non-school hosted reunion:



1. When and Where - The first and looong debate revolves around the question when and where the party will happen. All of you tend to have busy schedules at work or at college, projects to finish, work tasks that needs to be attended to. One may be available to come on a Sunday, the others may not be able to come. That's where the debate starts. Of course, the majority always win in this debate.

Where is not that much of a thing to debate about. Everybody are easy to negotiate with regarding with what place they want the party to happen. What matters most is if they can come on the date being set.

2. Theme, Foods, Contribution-- FUNDS! - Okay, no one can host a party without funds. Funds for decoration, funds for food, funds for videoke, party games and stuff. That is why the theme is discussed next, whether through text, meeting or internet. If the majority wants an Children's Party theme, then they will list all the stuff they will need like balloons, party hats, confettis, and add up the total expenses and divide it to the number of people in order to be able to come up with how much each one should contribute for the fund to spend for the party. Yes, the theme also decides what the attire for the party or reunion should be.

3. Invitation - Of course, the invitation is done first, but then, when all the matters are settled such as the details about when and where the reunion will happen, how much the fund should be (if funds are needed), then another round of invitation comes out. Why? Because they can convince more people to come by being able to answer their questions.Party details are big factors that people consider if they should come to the party or not.

4. Designation of Tasks - A party is impossible if only one person will do it. Therefore, when everything is settled, the class usually divides themselves with a specific task. One group may be assigned to take care of the foods, the other group for the games and the other for the decorations.

5. Preparation - It is not always the officers who are busy with the preparation but those who leads the event. The one who came up with the idea himself. He/she will be backed up by people who are, of course, available to lend a helping hand. The preparation always comes a few days or hours before the reunion. So all the buying, cutting, pasting, cooking starts here.

If it is a swimming outing type of reunion, the preparation will be not that big. Only a brief reminder to everybody about the meeting place and time, and what they should bring.


6. Party Time! - The party should happen according to plan. But most of the time, it doesn't happen because everybody are starting to have too much fun they forget about it.

What about reunions held at school?

1. Initiative - Someone has to initiate the homecoming party to happen. It is mostly the school who gathers or contacts the graduating officers from a certain batch.

2. Gathering - Meetings are conducted at school (or anywhere agreed upon). The gathering always result into designation of tasks and theme of the party.

3. Designation of Tasks and Invitations - Leaders for each batch will start contacting their fellow batchmates/classmates to tell them about the task designated to them regarding the party. Everybody starts to become and excited and will go spread the news to the others.

In this part, the assigned task is being discussed already. It takes days or months to be able to come up with how to do their task.

4. Funding - Funds is a must in this kind of reunion party. There will be alumni shirts to be sold too.

5. Checking Out - They have to share the proposed plan to the officers in charge of the event, get their approval before finalizing a plan.

6. Preparation -  The preparation begins days before the actual date of the homecoming. Everybody tries to beat the deadline at this stage.

7. The BIG Day - This is the day that everything planned should be acted upon. The plan always happens (because it is a more formal gathering), except on the last part of the party where all that everyone have to do is to dance and party.

It doesn't really matter how you plan, what matters is everybody will have fun!

Featured: Dieter Can Sing

It's been high school since I've been listening to German eurodisco-pop, specifically Modern Talking and Blue System. Behind these bands is a Pop Titan, Dieter Bohlen.

Europe, especially Germany and Russia, knows who Dieter Bohlen is, and how they see him as the third greatest composer in the world.

I just featured this video, because Dieter has faced a lot of controversies, such as being unable to sing, using playbacks in their performances and yes, not using his own voice in every song he composes and performs but someone else's voice.

These videos are enough proof for me that Dieter can sing. Of course, let's admit it, he doesn't have that angelic voice like his past-duo partner, Thomas Anders, or other artists around the globe, but I know for sure that Dieter can sing. And these videos give justice to the fact that he sings even the high-pitched chorus  parts of the songs since the Modern Talking era.

Point-Of-View: A Graduate's Love Blues

College-- during the final stage of completing your education attainment goals, there are more advantages than disadvantages: higher allowance, more freedom to make your own decisions, open opportunities to work or meet new people, parties, enjoyable school's educational activities, being to different places and an acceptable reason to be in a relationship.

I am not saying that having relationships in high school is illegal, but of course, during those years, parents are more protective of you and on the other hand, you are younger and have little rational knowing on how to make a relationship work. While in college, of course, your parents may consider to let you have a boyfriend or girlfriend because you are older or of legal age (18 and above) which means you are more capable of making wise decisions regarding the relationship you are putting yourself into, although they are also expecting that you'll reach out to them somehow if ever there is more that you need to understand about relationships.

So, that's what exactly happened to me and believe me, I managed making my relationships known by my parents, although I have a feeling that this is a lot more serious than the earlier ones.

Everything worked so well, starting from courtship to dating and finally, meeting each other's parents.



Every relationship is smooth sailing at times, sometimes, experiencing storms or rocked by some corals; but then, two sailors working hand in hand can get through those.

Until that day came, when they announced about it. I never saw it coming.
No, actually, I saw it coming-- we expected it, we worked for it, we yearned for it.
Yes, I am talking about the announcement of our graduation day.

Of course, we want it. We built a lot of dreams for ourselves, for each other and for our own families that graduating can give.

But just thinking about after the graduation makes me worry sometimes

Of course, after collecting all your documents, you will have to find a job, you will have to go to interviews, and if you did not pass, go and hunt for jobs again.

If you pass? Of course, you will have to work according to the schedule they will give you (obviously) and sometimes, overtime is inevitable which might drive you crazy thinking, What? Let's just go out next week? Why can't we just have a date tonight?

Let's add meeting new workmates, getting along with them, going out with them for fun because you have to maintain a good relationship with people you work with. Oh no, how if he/she likes someone new?

After your working hours, finally, time to go home, but uh-oh! You might encounter a looong line of vehicles, a heavy traffic that may eat a lot of hours. Phew!

Then, at the end of the day, you will have to take care of yourself-- do the laundry, eat, clean the house or at least, help your parents with it. How many hours are left for you to have even a little chat or meet-up with your sweetheart?

A rational mind will tell that it is not impossible to handle a relationship while working; while a crazy-in-love heart will just groan in a corner and ask, "How are you going to handle this now? I have such an insatiable hunger for love nothings and stuff like that."

Maybe, the best reply to it is, "Behave, Heart. Behave. Your relationship will be safe with just the right adjustment. Priorities first."

Point-Of-View: Fifty Shades of Grey Movie

Since I started blogging, I only made reviews about three movies-- A Fistful of Dollars, A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly-- all that came from The Dollars Trilogy. So now,  the fourth movie on the list is Fifty Shades of Grey.

As a reader of this book trilogy, I became interested when I heard it will be coming out in cinemas I wondered how the movie will be different from the book, or will it have any difference with what's in the book?

Unfortunately, I did not memorize stories that I read, therefore, I cannot state any observation whether there are changes in some details or dialogues in the movie as compared to what is written in the book (although I already read blogs that confirm there have been changes like the scene where Anastasia used "Stop" instead of "Red".)

So there, me and my boyfriend watched the movie together. Both of us stared seriously on the screen, sometimes we poke at each other, laugh at each other when the steamy scenes are on and we will awkwardly look away from  it (but only for a few seconds). As for me, the sexual detail of the film doesn't matter too much but the over-all output of it. But yes, I admit, the execution of the sexual scenes are steamy.

Our opinion varied. I focused on the cinematography, the execution of the scenes or the movie being a movie, since I already know the story while my boyfriend seemed to focus on the characters.

The first thing I noticed was how the scenes were cut. I frankly told him I don't like how the scenes were cut, I feel like there are parts of the book that are being taken away or not included. My guy just said that maybe they are trying to fit in all the scenes in the book in standard movie duration (from one to two hours), so some of the scenes had to be cut out to maximize the time. I just agreed on that. Maybe I felt like that since I read the whole book.

About the characters, not all of them or their characteristics seemed to be emphasized or given emphasis in the film. Of course, they shouldn't steal the spotlight from the lead characters but supporting characters just like Taylor are lovable in the books of E.L. James.

Other than that, the visual presentation gave me less amour from Christian Grey than the way I used to like him while reading the books. Jamie Dornan portrayed a very cold man in the movie and not how vulnerable Christian Grey have always been in my imaginations. I can't tell if he executed the character right or wrong; but he did a good job on the film (in my opinion). Dakota did a good job as well, in fact, she displayed more emotions into the film. She was good at delivery of Anastasia's emotions even through her facial expressions.

And yes, my admiration for Love Me Like You Do never changed. I really loved that scene when they were in Charlie Tango and that epic song played. I love the mixing of the song in that scene and the wonderful bird's eye-view shot as well over the bright city lights.

What about my boyfriend's point-of-view?

He haven't read the trilogy yet when we watched. He was quiet on the first parts of the film. On the Clayton's hardware store scene, he started commenting that Christian seemed to be stalking Anastasia, (so to those who have comments like this, you are not alone) then we proceeded into watching. Sometimes, he would ask me questions if this or that scene in the movie was in the book.

Then, when the bar scene came on, he just said, "Look at what alcohol do to people."

The next comment he gave was when Christian Grey showed Anastasia his Red Room of Pain. He laughed at the scene commenting that he's too expensive when it comes to making love. (Oh yes, his financial practicality never fades); it was as if he was trying to tell me "Did he have to buy all that to be able to make love?" He even asked me if Christian will murder Anastasia in the end. I said no. I also remember when he asked me on some part of the film that if Christian will not murder Anastasia, will she kill Christian Grey instead? I gave him a spoiler which did not discouraged him to watch further though.

And on the restaurant scene where Anastasia drinks with her mother, Christian Grey appears again, making my boyfriend murmur that he's really stalking Anastasia.

Until the film progressed and we reached the final scene of love making and Anastasia's confrontation with Christian; which resulted to letting Christian hit her six times.

We asked for each other's point of view and I just ended up saying, "Men shouldn't be sadists."
While he in return said, "Women shouldn't let men do sadist things to them."

Respecting each other's point of views, we played some arcade games before we went home happily.
